Day 01: OUT-BOUND FLIGHT
Your enchanting Tuscan adventure begins with an out-bound flight from a major US airport to the heart of Italy. As you embark on this journey, anticipation builds for the stunning landscapes and rich culture awaiting you. Relax and let your dreams of Tuscany unfold as you fly across the Atlantic. This flight marks the beginning of your Under Tuscan Sun Travel Package, promising unforgettable experiences in Italy's most picturesque region. Prepare for a journey filled with charming vineyards, historic towns, and the serene beauty of the Tuscan countryside. Your Italian escape starts now!
Day 02: FLORENCE
Arrive in Florence, Italy. Upon your arrival at the airport in Florence you will be transferred to your hotel where you will check in. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this captivating city on your own.
Day 03: FLORENCE
After breakfast, you will join a guided walking tour which takes you first to Piazzale Michelangelo to admire a wonderful panorama of the city. Then, proceed by coach through the city center on an outdoor guided tour of the Duomo complex, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery and its impressive bronze doors. Visit the interior of the Cathedral and its magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi. A short walk through the historic streets of the heart of Florence brings you to the renowned Galleria dell’Accademia where you will admire the famous David sculpture by Michelangelo and other art by Florentine artists. After the walking tour, you will have time at leisure to continue exploring the city center of Florence.
Days 04 - 05: FLORENCE
Make the most out of your next two days in Florence. One suggestion is to visit the Uffizi Gallery, which holds Florence's largest collection of art from all of the great Renaissance masters including Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and more. Some other museums to consider are the Bargello Museum and the Pitti Palace. As an alternative, you may wish to do some shopping in Florence's leather district or visit artisan workshops. If you would like to take a day excursion from Florence, nearby Pisa or Lucca are both excellent options.
Days 06 - 09: SIENA AND THE TUSCAN HILL COUNTRY
Pick up your rental car and begin your journey through the beautiful Tuscan countryside, making your way through the rolling hills and vineyards. Upon arrival in the city of Siena, spend some time exploring the city center including the breathtaking Cathedral and the iconic Piazza del Campo, the main square where the annual Palio horse race is held. While based in Siena, spend your days enjoying excursions to various towns in the countryside, such as San Gimignano, which is famous for its medieval towers, Volterra or Montepulciano. Along the way, be sure to stop in Montalcino for a tour of a local vineyard and a tasting of Brunello wine paired with local specialties. Lastly, there's nothing wrong with simply exploring the countryside and going where your heart tells you; do not be afraid to get lost, there are many gems tucked away in the countryside, waiting to be discovered.
Day 10: RETURN FLIGHT
Return your car at the Florence airport and board your flight back home.
