A few suggestions include Largo di Torre Argentina, an archeological site with the remains of temples that today is home to a colony of cats. If you prefer to spend time at a museum, consider visiting the Capitoline Museums followed by a stop at the nearby Vittoriano Monument which has a rooftop panoramic terrace that offers one of the best views of Rome. Another area to visit on this day could be the Gardens of Villa Borghese, where you can unwind in the lush vegetation and admire the villas. Meet with your guide at the entrance to the ruins and begin your tour of this fascinating Ancient Roman city. Destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D., today Pompeii is one of the best surviving examples of an Ancient Roman city thanks to the layer of volcanic ash that preserved its ruins for centuries. During the tour, you will have the chance to step back in time and admire ruins that are unlike any other place on earth. Afterwards, enjoy time at leisure for lunch with your family and then continue your journey to Sorrento, located along the picturesque Bay of Naples. The first stop will be Positano, a unique village positioned on a cliff that is renowned for its remarkable views. Consider stopping by the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, famous for its multi-colored majolica dome, in order to engage in some cultural sightseeing. As an alternative, you may prefer to simply wander Positano’s winding streets or spend some time by the water. Afterwards, continue on to Amalfi, the principal city on the Amalfi Coast, which served as a powerful Maritime Republic for several centuries. Highlights here include the artistically rich Duomo and the wondrous Cloister of Paradise. Last, but certainly not least, the group will stop in the hilltop town of Ravello, which is emblematic of the Amalfi Coast’s charming, seaside towns. While in Ravello, you may wish to visit the Villa Rufolo, which is renowned for its terraced gardens and stunning views of the surrounding area. Once you finish your visit of Ravello, return to Sorrento where you will enjoy a dinner featuring local delicacies followed by an overnight stay at your hotel.

  • Day 08: CAPRI

After meeting with your boat captain at the dock in Sorrento, board your motorboat and travel to the mesmerizing Island of Capri, considered to be among the most beautiful islands in the world. As you approach the island, take a moment to marvel at the famous Faraglioni, large rock formations located just off of Capri’s coast that have become a symbol of the island. After docking, your time in Capri will be at leisure to explore the highlights of Capri, which is actually divided into two parts: an upper part called Anacapri and a lower part called Capri. One recommended activity is to purchase tickets to travel to the Blue Grotto via rowboat. This sea cave is famous due to the remarkable blue light that emerges when the rays of the sun make contact with the pristine water. Afterwards, take some time to discover other highlights of the island, such as the panoramic chairlift or the Gardens of Augustus. Additionally, do not miss your chance to sample some of the local cuisine during lunch at one of Capri’s historic restaurants.
