  • Day 01: ROME

Upon your arrival in Rome, head to your hotel where you will check in. Enjoy time at leisure to start exploring Rome independently and get your first taste of the Eternal City as you wander its ancient streets. Stop by one of Rome’s many excellent restaurants for dinner this evening then return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Day 02: ROME

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then take the morning to continue your independent exploration of Rome. Wander the ancient streets discovering historic monuments such as the Circus Maximus, where Roman chariots once raced, and the Trevi Fountain, where everyone in the family will have the chance to toss a coin into the pale blue water. Grab a bite to eat and in the afternoon you will depart on a sightseeing tour that will take you to some of Rome’s major religious monuments including the Catacombs located on the outskirts of Rome. Along the way you will see the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the Holy Stairs before exploring the Catacombs with a local guide. Serving as underground burial sites for the Early Christians, younger travelers will remain in awe of this historic setting. After the tour, you will return to the city center of Rome where you will enjoy dinner at a local trattoria. Take an evening stroll and sample some of the city’s best gelato—a treat the whole family will enjoy—before returning to your hotel for the night.

  • Day 03: ROME

After a nice breakfast, you will have the rest of the morning free to visit more of Rome’s city center. Children may enjoy a visit to the Colosseum to witness first-hand the arena where ancient gladiators battled (optional, not included. Skip-the-line guided tour recommend and can be arranged upon request). Break for lunch at a local restaurant and then afterwards head to the Vatican Museums for a guided tour of the largest collection of art in the world. Michelangelo’s masterpieces in the Sistine Chapel are sure to take everyone’s breath away. Later, you will also visit St. Peter’s Basilica and adventurous families may wish to climb to the top of the large dome to experience unforgettable views of Rome from above and snap some unique family photos. When you finish the tour, you may wish to explore the Vatican area further, such as St. Peter’s Square and the surrounding streets as well as historic Castel Sant’Angelo, which was once a Papal Fortress and today is a museum. Take your time with your additional sightseeing then, when you are ready, return to the hotel to freshen up for dinner in the evening.

  • Day 04: ROME, POMPEII, VESUVIUS, SORRENTO

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then say goodbye to Rome as you meet with your private driver and depart for the Amalfi Coast. Along the way, you will stop for a private walking tour of the archeological ruins of Pompeii. Preserved in volcanic ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, there’s no place on earth quite like Pompeii, making the archeological site an unforgettable stop for travelers of all ages. You will break for lunch and then move on to Mount Vesuvius National Park where you will travel up Mount Vesuvius by bus and then have the chance to hike up to the top of this active volcano. Families will enjoy making the 30 minute trek to the summit together and then taking many photos of the breathtaking views. Afterwards, meet back with your driver and continue on to Sorrento, a sunny coastal town filled with cultural monuments and artisan workshops. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and then enjoy your first taste of the local cuisine during dinner this evening.

  • Day 05: SORRENTO COUNTRYSIDE

If your family loves food, today will be a very special treat. After breakfast, you will travel to a pasta-making factory where you will learn about the best local pasta-making techniques and recipes for fresh pastas and sauces. Stop for lunch at a small farmhouse located on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. You will have the chance to visit the orchards and vineyards learning about the local production processes and how the volcanic soil influences local crops. Children will have fun exploring the vineyards while parents will not want to miss their chance to sample a class of local wine on the farmhouse’s scenic patio. After a relaxing day of discovering the Amalfi Coast’s culinary traditions, you will return to Sorrento and spend the night at your hotel.

  • Day 06: SORRENTO, POSITANO, AMALFI

This day will be dedicated to the charming coastal towns perched along the cliffs of the rugged Amalfi Coast. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before departing on the famous “Amalfi Drive”. The first stop will be the scenic town of Positano perched above the water. Afterwards you will travel to Amalfi, which was once a Maritime Republic, to explore its charming streets and perhaps visit its iconic Cathedral which has become a symbol of the town. You will have time at leisure to sample local cuisine, visit artisan workshops and interact with the locals. Afterwards, we’ll head back to Sorrento in the afternoon where you can rest at the hotel before enjoying dinner at another local restaurant, perhaps on the beachfront with unforgettable views of the sea.

  • Day 07: SORRENTO, CAPRI

Your final day in the Amalfi Coast will be spent soaking up the Mediterranean sun on the Island of Capri. The island’s popularity dates back to the time of the Roman Emperors, and for good reason. Enjoy a panoramic tour of the island starting in Anacapri, one of the island’s two villages and where you will have the chance to visit Villa San Michele, which is home to historic art and impressive gardens that offer stunning views of the sea. Next, you will travel down to the village of Capri where you will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards you will have time to visit the town’s lively main square, known as Piazzetta, or spend time at the beach. In the evening, you will return to Sorrento for your final dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

  • Day 08: SORRENTO

Enjoy one last breakfast and then its “Arrivederci Sorrento!” This marks the end of the tour and our services.
