The itinerary
Not to be missed are the city's eminent museums such as the National Cinema Museum and the Egyptian Museum, among the most important of its kind. Take a day to explore the surrounding area where you will discover refined former residences and hunting lodges of the the Savoy Royal Family, the past Kings of Italy. The travel itinerary features one private guided walking tour in Turin to help you become acquainted with the historical city center. The rest of the travel package allows for leisure time to discover Turin and its rich surroundings independently. Further tours or activities can be added according to particular interests such as historical walking tours, food tours or wine tastings. No matter what you choose to see, be sure to savor your time in Turin, a remarkable city unlike any other in Italy.
Day 1: TURIN
Arrive in Turin on your own and make your way to the hotel where you will check in and enjoy a welcome drink. Having served as the first capital of a unified Italy, Turin is an elegant city with a rich history heavily influenced by the presence of the Royal House of Savoy (the former Kings of Italy). After hosting the Winter Olympics in 2006 the city was revitalized and became a key destination for both domestic and international travelers. In the afternoon, meet with your private guide for a walking tour through the elegant historical center of the city to discover its many fascinating corners such as Piazza Castello, Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Reale (the Royal Palace), the Cathedral, the elegant Piazza San Carlo and many more. Turin’s unique blend of Renaissance, Neo-Classical and Art Nouveau architectural styles is sure to enchant. After the walking tour, you will have free time to continue exploring the city center at your leisure, perhaps taking a scenic stroll along the Po River. You may also wish to sample Turin’s famous “Bicerin”, a drink made from espresso, chocolate and milk that is a favorite among the locals. In the evening, enjoy dinner on your own and then spend the night at your hotel accommodation in the city center.
Day 2: TURIN
After breakfast at your hotel, you will have a full day available to discover Turin's famous museums such as the National Cinema Museum located in the iconic Mole Antonelliana (be sure to head to the top of the tower to enjoy the best panoramic views of Turin) and the Egyptian Museum, one of the two most important museums in Europe dedicated to this ancient civilization. Stop for lunch with the locals in one of the many renowned historical cafes in town. In the afternoon, you can enjoy shopping for some Italian goods and chocolate while exploring one of Turin's shopping areas such as Via Roma. Afterwards unwind during dinner at a local restaurant and then overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 3: TURIN, STUPINIGI PALACE, RIVOLI CASTLE, REGGIA DI VENARIA
Enjoy breakfast a rich breakfast at your hotel to prepare for the day, which will be open for you to explore as you wish. We recommend taking your rental car and spending the day visiting the surroundings of Turin where you will find the most important royal residences of Savoy Royal Family. Head to the beautiful Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, an 18th century royal hunting lodge, or the Rivoli Castle, a former residence of the Savoy family that today hosts an important collection of contemporary art. A must-see is the famous Reggia di Venaria Reale, one of the largest royal palaces in the world with ornate interiors and expansive gardens. Whether your interests are art, history or nature, the former royal residences surrounding Turin offer much to admire.
Day 4: TURIN
After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and this marks the end of our services.
