From Rome to Milan (or Rome)

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS: Assisi, Siena, Florence, Pisa (optional), Padua, Venice, Verona, Sirmione (Lake Garda), Lake Como, Milan

TRAVEL ITINERARY:

DAY 01 (Monday): ROME, ASSISI, SIENA, FLORENCE
Early morning meeting with your tour leader and group in a designated meeting point in Rome. By motor coach you will depart to Assisi, located in the heart of the Umbria region. This tiny town will enchant you with its surrounding walls and the famous Basilica of Saint Francis housing important frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue. After Assisi, you will continue to Siena in the Tuscany region. Siena’s notoriety is due to its historic importance, its beautiful surroundings and the Palio of Siena, a historical horse race in which all the districts of the town participate. You will enjoy some time at leisure in the medieval historical center where you can explore Piazza Del Campo, the Palazzo Pubblico and the Tower of Mangia. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Florence, known as the cradle of the Renaissance is one of the most admirable art cities in Italy. Dinner with the group and overnight at your hotel in Florence.

DAY 02 (Tuesday): FLORENCE. PISA (Optional, Not Included)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing on a sightseeing tour of Florence. You will explore Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery of St. John. The rest of your day will be at leisure to enjoy a visit to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important art museums in the world and the Accademia Gallery, home of Michelangelo’s David. If you prefer, you may enjoy an afternoon of shopping at the street markets or at the famous brand outlets, perhaps, take a quick trip to Pisa, famous for its Leaning Tower (optional tours and activities, not included). Dinner with your group and a good night's rest at your Hotel.

Day 03 (Wednesday): FLORENCE, PADUA, VENICE
After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Venice. On the way you will stop in Padua where you will have a brief visit of the Basilica of St Anthony, home to a number of beutiful frescoes guarded by the famous Gattamelata statue by the great master Donatello. The motor coach will then continue to Venice, internationally famous for its architectural beauty and lively canals. Your hotel will be right on the Island, surrounded by canals and bridges, narrow streets and beautiful palaces. Enjoy a walking sightseeing tour of Venice, exploring Piazza San Marco, the Doge Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons before dinner with your group at your hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 04 (Thursday): VENICE
After breakfast at the hotel, you will cross the lagoon by boat and reach the island of Murano to visit a glass factory and see the artisans mold each piece by hand and create a unique Murano Glass piece. In the afternoon, you will have some time at leisure to enjoy Venice at your own pace, maybe enjoy a gondola ride (optional, not included) or relax in a café’ and enjoy an authentic bellini in front of the Grand Canal. Dinner and overnight at your Hotel.

Day 05 (Friday): VENICE, VERONA, SIRMIONE (LAKE GARDA), LAKE COMO, MILAN
After breakfast at the hotel, the tour will depart towards Milan with few detours to discover some of the highlights of North Italy. First stop will be in Verona for a brief visit of the home town of Romeo and Juliet. From there you will continue to the lovely small town of Sirmione on the shore of Lake Garda where you will have time at leisure for lunch. After lunch, you will board your motor coach and depart to the beautiful Lake Como for a short panoramic visit before arriving in Milan. Dinner and overnight at your Hotel accommodation.

Day 06 (Saturday): MILAN or FREE TRANSFER TO ROME
Breakfast at the hotel, before taking on a panoramic sightseeing tour of Milan and its historical center including the famous Duomo and the Sforza Castle. The tour will end at the Milan Central rail station, where our services will end. If you prefer, you can take advantage of our complimentary transfer to Rome arriving in the Eternal city in the evening.
